Tuesday, Sept 2 (pre conference)

FREE - Join us to go to the Freemont Street Experience

10 am - 2 pm

Spouses, friends, others not going to a pre-conference class? Then gather in the lobby at 11am and we'll either use the shuttle or grab taxis together on a short 15 minute trip down to see "Old Las Vegas". Lunch will be "Dutch Treat" (each pays their own) at one of the many quaint cafes, restaurants or holes-in-the-wall found along this fun-loving street.

We can see the world's largest big screen TV that towers over Freemont street, eat 99 cent shrimp cocktails and $1 beers! Find the cheapest roulette (sometimes only one dime!) and $2 black jack tables. There are always street performers and show-girls to boggle the mind. Over 10 legendary casinos line Fremont Street - including Binions Horse Shoe (where the World Series of Poker originated) and the newly renovated Golden Nugget (with a HUGE, shark infested aquarium that rims the swimming pool!).  Remember the semi-famous neon cowboy and cowgirl signs of "old Las Vegas"? Well -- you'll find them here too.

We'll go down together in the shuttle or taxis and see The Wynn Resort - fabled for its classy interior and ultra luxe offerings, it has a Ferrari and Maserati car dealership inside the resort! You can see "used" cars selling for over a million dollars. If that's too steep for your budget, there are other high end stores like Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior. You'll see huge waterfalls and more marble than you can imagine.
Plan on eating lunch in a beautiful setting that will set you back a few bucks... (each pays their own). Then we'll walk down to the Venetian Hotel and ride the gondolas (estimated fee: $15) and see this amazing hotel and the newest resort, the Venetian's sister hotel - The Palazzo. Boasting restaurants by Emeril Lagasse, Mario Batali and Wolfgang Puck as well as 50 luxury shops - you'll marvel at the beauty and grandeur that is typical of over-the-top Vegas resorts. Don't miss the casinos at these 3 hotels - they are there too and fabulous (but quite spendy!!).
