Servoy calls for abstracts for ServoyWorld 2008 to be held in
Las Vegas, September 2 - 5

Introduction

ServoyWorld is Servoy's annual, international developer and business conference. We offer the best of the best at ServoyWorld and invite you to submit a proposal for sharing your knowledge; and sharing the products and applications that you have developed in Servoy. We are especially interested in receiving proposals that feature best practices; quality; design; proven techniques; and cutting edge technology utilizing the Servoy Product Suite. Topics that include AJAX and SaaS are also very desirable. From a business point of view, we are especially interested in case studies that demonstrate how utilization of Servoy has been a good choice over other applications -- including, but not limited to .NET; straight Java; and all 4GLs such as: Omnis, FoxPro, Oracle Forms, Uniface, Magic, FileMaker, etc. Your proposal must be submitted online (see the details below) by June 1, 2008. You will be notified within 30 days -- by July 1, 2008 -- if you are chosen. Accepted abstracts and speaker biographies will be published on the ServoyWorld website and included in the published materials at the ServoyWorld Conference.

Selection Process

Each submission is rated based on the proposal's concept, depth, organization and speaker's credentials. Emphasis will be placed on bringing a diverse selection of topics and speakers to the conference. All final decisions rest entirely with Servoy.

Types of Sessions

Class - Classes are presentations where you share your knowledge utilizing PowerPoint and handouts -- with a theater-style seating of the attendees. Typically a session lasts 45 minutes to 1 hour and includes a Q&A session at the end.

Case Study - Cases study presentations are enjoyable to attendees -- especially if the session features a success story or a lesson learned from the field. Case studies must be presented by (or co-presented with) the organization implementing the case study; as well as a consultant. Case Studies are actual stories that provide real examples of Servoy in the workplace.

Round Table - A round table session can provide an opportunity for participants to meet with experts and leaders about a specific topic or in a particular field; allowing for active discussion among participants after a brief introduction by the roundtable moderator. Round table sessions can be held at lunchtime or during breaks. An alternative to a round table is to offer a "birds of a feather" type of event -- in an informal "after hours" timeframe for specific topics intended for a limited audience.

Experiential - These sessions are hands-on classes with an exchange of ideas, information and opinions that focus on learning-by-doing. Experiential classes require participants to bring their own laptops and are usually limited in size due to the nature of this type of session. If you wish to propose to offer a Pre- or Post Conference day-long experiential session, please note that interest as well.

Vendor Session - Vendor sessions enable you to showcase your products or services available for the Servoy market. No selling should occur at ANY of the other types of sessions listed above. The Vendor Session is also available as a sponsorship option. If you are interested in this type of session, please contact Andy Roosewinkel at arooswinkel@servoy.com for details.

Presenter Benefits

As a member of the Servoy presentation group at ServoyWorld, you will receive a VIP Conference Badge identifying you as an esteemed presenter. You will also receive a complimentary ServoyWorld Conference Pass -- with access to all sessions; the cocktail reception; lunches; the outing and dinner; etc. as part of our thanks for your commitment. In addition, your name; biography; and presentation overview will be listed in all ServoyWorld materials -- both online and in print form.

Speaking Obligations

When you agree to being a presenter at ServoyWorld, you are making a commitment to come well-prepared and to speak on the topic you have proposed. The submitter also agrees to be available to present his/her session during any day of our conference. As part of your commitment, you are required to provide a suitable presentation and to submit required documents by the deadlines given upon notice of acceptance. We want to offer the best possible technical and business conference and we appreciate your serious commitment to this endeavor.

Your Other Ideas

Please feel free to submit panel topics; roundtable topics (for the luncheon); or other ideas of special interest. We welcome new ideas and (as always) strive to provide the best for our developers and the Servoy community.

Submittal Process and Deadline

You must email your proposal to cfp@servoy.com by June 1, 200. You will be notified if you are accepted by July 1, 2008. Please submit your proposal and be sure to include the following information:

c. Proposed agenda

d. Summary (50 words approximately) of what you will cover in your session
