CEO of Ayton, Marc Huizer: "With Servoy we were able to seamlessly upgrade our product from a division level, 4gl based "on premises only" software to an enterprise grade, SaaS enabled product. Servoy is based on industry standards - and this upgrade to Servoy has already started giving us topline growth. We did a full rewrite and expect full ROI within 18 months." THE NETHERLANDS August 8, 2008 -- Ayton, a software and consulting company based in the Netherlands, today announced the completion of two new products on their scheduling platform. This only shortly after completion of their rewrite of the core scheduling engine of their system. Ayton now offers a whole set of software to optimize HRM and reduce personel cost in healthcare institutions. The core of the application is formed by a very advanced scheduling engine that can schedule with a lot of different criteria. It is one of the first engines to not only take hard criteria into account but also soft criteria. Additionally the very complex financial handling around HRM is also processed within the application enabling organizations to get an instant and correct overview of their actual costs and enable them to directly optimize. On average healthcare organizations have an ROI of less than 12 months.

Marc Huizer, CEO of Ayton: We are one of the first providers in healthcare that has started offering software as a service. With help of Servoys technology this was seamless to achieve and we can now provide our software both on premise or SaaS depending on the needs of the customer. We mainly use Servoys native client called smart client. Due to the complexity of our product running in a pure browser based environment is not feasible. One of the problems we encountered however is that although Servoys native client can run over the internet without the need for solutions as Terminal Services or Citrix it still required to communicate in a binary protocol over a specific port. In healthcare this is a problem as institutions are heavily firewalled and are not very open to punching holes into their firewall. We contacted Servoys R&D department and they came up with a solution: they tunnel all traffic opver http making it compatible with firewalls and proxies. Over the past year we have been cooperating to tune the performance of the tunneling, right now there is no noticeable performance difference anymore, being able to run native applications over the internet is definitely a unique offering.

Jan Aleman, CEO of Servoy: We're very impressed with how fast Ayton was initially able to switch to our technology and even more how they developed and released two completely new products in less than a year. Our ISV program helped Ayton to get up to speed initially and its quite significant how they continued rolling out new applications at such an impressive rate.

Raoul Maton, Director of operations of Ayton: getting new versions out of our previous product took a lot of time, it was a complex process and it was necessary to get the data to our office. With Servoy we are much more in control of the process thanks to the built-in tools to version applications and the ease of rolling new versions out to end users.

Our reporting functionality has also been greatly enhanced, Servoy offers tight integration with Jasper reports and this makes it very easy to not only run powerful reports but also to easily customize them on a per customer basis.

Marc Huizer: With Servoy we were able to seamlessly upgrade our product from a division level, 4gl based, on premises software to enterprise grade, SaaS enabled and open standards based offering and it has already started giving us topline growth, a full rewrite with an internal ROI of 18 months. Additionally we have been able to write the software such that we can now also extend into other markets: both internationally (Servoy has built-in multi lingual capabilities) and horizontally into other markets where employees have to be scheduled.
